June 10th and 11th, 2014
Aluminum Die Casters from around the country will be convening in Washington DC on June 10th and 11th as part of the 2014 NAM Manufacturing Summit. NAM is the National Association of Manufacturers and is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states.
Employment in the Manufacturing Industry
Manufacturing employs nearly 12 million men and women, contributes more than $1.8 trillion to the U.S. economy annually, has the largest economic impact of any major sector and accounts for two-thirds of private-sector research and development.
The NAM is the powerful voice of the manufacturing community and the leading advocate for a policy agenda that helps manufacturers compete in the global economy and create jobs across the United States.
The NAM is on the front lines of a wide range of policy battles, from immigration reform and labor relations to energy and the environment to trade policy and taxes. NAM works on behalf of manufacturers in America to advance policies that help manufacturers do what they do best: create economic strength and jobs.
Attending the Summit
The North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) has teamed up with NAM for the Manufacturing Summits since 2011. Members of NADCA fly in to Washington to attend the Summit each year and then break off with their Washington representative, The Franklin Group, to discuss topics that are die casting specific and how to meet with Congress to review those subjects.
Details and results of this year’s Summit will be forthcoming next month after we all attend the Summit.
