There were 14 die cast operators, inspection department personnel, and maintenance personnel in the course for one day which included primarily classroom training.

The students listened to Sammy Medina, Die Cast Supervisor at Premier, who taught various topics from a course designed by NADCA which included details on safety, machine operation, die issues to watch for during production, and process variables to monitor during the casting process.

The class training was invaluable and proved an effective method of teaching both new and existing machine operators how to operate a die cast machine safely and efficiently. The course also included important topics such as process controls, productivity improvements, defect identification, and metal handling.
